Dear Grams.....

Dear Grams,
I hope you feel better soon.  I can't wait to celebrate Christmas with you in a few days!
Love,
Rosie

On Christmas Day in the Morning.....

Well, actually, because Christmas was on Sunday so the the humans had church, it was early afternoon, but still, same difference.  When I say the humans had Church, only Wol, Tiggy and Roo went, because Kanga has a bad cold. :(  Anyway, when they came home from church and had breakfasted upon Christmas bread, stollen, butter, cream cheese, cheese and tea, it was time to open up our Christmas stockings.
I'm really good at helping people open presents.  First, I punch it with my nose and sniff it to determine whether or not it's food.  If it is food, I just rip the wrapping paper right off, regardless of whose present it is.  If I determine that it is NOT food, I let my human unwrap the first half, then, I grab the paper and back up.  I then proceed to help the humans take care of trash by ripping up the paper. It speeds biodegrading.
Here I am pulling a present out of my own stocking.
Unwrapping one of my presents.
Here I am unwrapping the pink flying duck that Roo gave me.

Do you like my bow? I've been wearing it for a while now.
That's all for now, folks.
There's another post in the works.
Love,
Rosers XOXOXOXO

Christmas Eve Dinner

Here's another entry in my series on Meals I Have Loved.  This is my Christmas Eve dinner.
Lefse, Swedish Meatballs, Cheesy Potatoes, Lingon sauce, and veggies. MMMMM.
I ate what the humans did, except that they didn't give me any fizzy jello salad or cookies, the meanies. :(  It was just us, because Uncle L. was shooting poor, innocent duckies, and Grandma was sick (Grandma, I hope your antibiotics are working). :(
With Lots of Love,
Rosie!!!

Party Time!

Yesterday, after the bread incident, I went to my friend Biddles' 11th birthday party. I went to his 10th last year and stayed at his house this year on my vacation.

I had a blast. I visited with my friends and ate pancakes and birthday cake. Yummy!
Yes. I am being walked by a cat. That would be Pebbles. She's a great cat!

Biddles lives with his Mom, Dad, Ginger the Golden Ret., and The Cats. My favorite of The Cats is Pebbles. She's the sweetest little kitten ever and we're great pals!

Thanks for inviting me  Biddles! You're a terrific dog!I had a BLAST. :)

P.S. The other pictures wouldn't upload for some reason, so sorry about that folks. I'll try to post more later!

About that Bread I stole...

OWL: YOU MAY NOT WANT TO READ THIS...

The saddest part of this story is that Kanga put aside the remainder of the loaf of  bread since it had, um been marked by me. Apparently Roo didn't know that and she made Owl a PB&J sandwich with MY PIECES OF BREAD! Harrumph! Owl owes me two pieces of bread now...

My Christmas Giant Sequoia

Yesterday, I went on a Great Expotition.  I went to the local Giant Sequoia forest (Read- Christmas tree farm. Love, Roo).  Here's my day in pictures.

First I had to wait for Kanga and Owl to get ready to go. PLEASE HURRY UP!!!

Next, I had to wait for Owl to get his coat.

Roo put my harness on, and Kanga got me treats.

Time to go in the car!
I cuddled Roo on the way to the forest.

I like to look out the window when I'm on a ride.

Here I am with the sign signalling the entrance to the forest.  I think that this is a GREAT picture of Tiggy's new fur cut!

After much deliberation, we chose our Christmas Giant Sequoia
I watched Owl cut it down

Then the girls hitched me to the tree.

And I pulled it to the car.  Look how big and strong I am!!!
Yesterday Daddy put the lights on the tree, and the humans are going to decorate it soon. I just LOVE Christmas!
WWFN,
Rosie the Strong!

Uh.....

The humans went to Auntie K.'s annual Christmas open house today.  They came home to find a jar of calcium supplements that was on the counter knocked over.  They couldn't find that I had actually eaten anything, though.

I'm SOOO innocent.
And then Daddy went into the playroom. He saw a shredded bread bag and a couple slices of bread.  Yes, I did it again.  I. Stole. Bread.
I'm sorry. :(

St. Lucia -better late than never

St.Lucia is remembered December 13th and as always the humes celebrated.I helped-especially sharing Lucia buns.
Wearing the crown, well ok the girls really wore the crown and carried the tray. But I did eat the buns.
The bears are Wearing their Lucia gowns. Doesn't they look beautiful?

That was exhausting helping with all those buns.Time for a rest.

WWFN,
Rosie

CHOPPED!!!

MY girls went and got their fur chopped today. I does not need to gets my fur chopped because I leave it on the floor(look closely at my title picture for some of my lovely locks) for the BIG monster to come and eat it up.I does not like the monster because I think it might eat me too.

Yup needs a good pair of clippers

Not as pretty as Rosie's but very nice and so grown up.The hair stylist thought my Tigs was in High School!Jeesh-silly girl

And Tigs this Rosie is very proud of how hard you work and how much you really love Chemistry.

WWFN,Rosie the proud

Rosie is Back!!

Yup,I is feeling like my old self today and took the humes on a walk.
Checking out the ducks and geese on the pond.

I had to take Kanga to see the turkey fungus that the girls had found the other day.

Turkey fungus with the brown stripes-isn't  it cool !

The fungus looks like a turkey opening its display of feathers. It is a popular treat with the critters so it is surprising that we were able to find it.

It was a happy time to be back in my beloved woods.

Bad Start to the Day

I had a seizure this morning. I have them a few times a year always at the same time of morning. I am very pathetic afterwards because I am so confused. I don't remember who my humans are, although I will wag my tail.If your dog ever has a seizure you have to him/her  alone during the seizure. Anyways I am resting now.WWFN, Rosie
On my favorite loon blanket

PS Sorry Tigs about having a seizure on Analytical Chem final Day.I am sure you did well since you LOVE Chemistry so much.Rosie

Soccer time!

I realized that all of you faithful readers may not have had a chance to see me in action when I play soccer, and I wouldn't want you all to be deprived of that any longer. I'm a kind dog like that. So, here's how you play soccer with me.

1.  I take Tigger outside and we play for a little bit. Then I flop and look beautiful and get my picture taken.

The best soccer players always wear bows!

1 b. It's been a good game if you opponent's shirt looks like this.
Hehehehe. My paws are pretty effective at getting mud on Tigger.

2. Because Daddy is 570000000 times better at soccer (and stick!) than Tigger I ask him to take me out as soon as Tigs and I get back inside. It works! Woohooo!!!!!!
Heading out to play with Daddy! Yay OWL!

3. Have Daddy throw ball and then I chase it. I catch it with such finesse and grace. Then I run and Daddy chases me.
Hmmm. I was getting a wee bit distracted here by someone going by on the road.

4. Repeat step 3  3700.654 times. Minimum. Make sure that Tigs is getting some good action shots.
Now that's some action  there!

5. Switch to playing stick.
I love playing stick!

6. Come in happy but exhausted after creaming Daddy in yet another game of soccer and stick. (I love you Daddy!)

Rosie Paws!

My Favorite Snacks

One of my favorite times of day is snack time.  It doesn't happen every day, but it's not rare that I convince my family to give me a snack.  Some of my favorite snacks are milkbones, pancakes, and popcorn.
Milkbones are perfect for after an afternoon walk, or pretty much anytime.  They have a satisfying crunch, and a slightly sweet, milky taste.  They come in a variety of sizes, but I personally recommend the largest one.
I absolutely adore pancakes.  I usually have them as more of a second breakfast than as a snack, but I'd be more than happy to have a pancake snack anytime!  Kanga makes excellent pumpkin pancakes, which are perfect with a fried egg or twelve.
Popcorn is probably the snack I have most often. The humans make it for themselves fairly regularly.  I like to try to catch it in my mouth when they throw it for me.  Sometimes, though, they make me look for it, the meanies. I especially like it when they put nutritional yeast on it to give it a cheesy flavor.
You cannot resist my eyes. Give me a snack.
Those are just a few of my favorite snacks.  What snacks do you like to eat and share with your humans? (Or with your dog(s) if you are a human.)

On the virtue of sharing............

Sharing is a virtue, as Kanga would say.  It is a very important virtue.  People who don't share are greedy and no one likes greedy people.  It's especially important to share with your dog.  This is even mentioned in the Bible " Yea, Lord, but even the little dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master's table,"(Matthew, 15: 26-28). This is my favorite Bible verse, by the way.
Always share with your dog.  It's commanded in the Bible, and it's the right thing to do.
WWFN,
Rosie :)

As a good Orthodox Christian dog, I always wear my cross.

My Friend Ruby

Well, it's a bit of a sad evening here for me. Tigger told me today that my pal Ruby died on Thursday. Ruby was one of my friends that I stayed with this summer when I went on vacation from the humans. She was a friendly, kindly chocolate lab and we got along just grandly. I'm going to miss her. :(

This was a note that I wrote and sent to Ruby when she first got sick.

WWFN  and Love,

Rosie the Weeping

P.S. Lots of sympathy to Ruby's family: Her mom and dad and Biddles and Ginger and the cats and Gretel. XOXOXOX, ROsie

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY, TIGGER! I LOVE YOU LOTS!!!!

ROSIE

Birthday Cake and Naughtiness

Once upon a time, there was a very good mamma, who made her Roo a beautiful chocolate 17th birthday cake.
That night, the family had a party, and ate some of the cake, but they didn't eat all of it.  They didn't give any to their dog, because "Chocolate isn't good for puppy dogs." This made their dog mad and sad.  They stored the leftover cake in the microwave over night to keep it safe from their poor, innocent puppy.  This just made her madder and sadder.
The next morning, her Tigger removed the cake from the microwave the make the dog oatmeal for breakfast, and set it on the counter.  She made the dog breakfast, and fed her.  She neglected, however, to put the cake back in the microwave.  Because she was a studious Tigger, she went upstairs to print something for school.  She heard dishes being rattled in the kitchen, and went to investigate, because she knew that Rosie her dog was the only person in the kitchen.  This is what she saw...

Yes, that poor, mad, sad dog, finally got her just desserts.  Her humans yelled at her, the poor thing, and she was sad and depressed ALL DAY. The moral of the story- always share dessert with your precious pooch.

WWFN,
Rosie, advocate for the Canine Right to Eat Birthday Cake :)

Roo says: Yes, Rosie stole some birthday cake. Yes, she got in trouble. And yes, she deserved to get in trouble.  Consuming chocolate can be fatal for dogs. If you make a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting, feel free to share it with your dog.  If there is chocolate, DON'T.  Thankfully, Rosie suffered no ill effects. :)
