SNOW PICTURES!!!!

Dear all,

As promised, here are the pictures of the snow. There's a little bit more snow now than there was when I took these pictures.  Roo says that the NOAA says we could get as much as 5" today!!  I played soccer and stick, and then went on a walk with Tigrou, as is evidenced in these pictures. :)

The Beautiful, Snowy Time is BACK!!!!

Well, folks, guess what? It's snowing today!!!!!! Hoooooorrrrrayyy!!!!! I love the snow. I'm going to go out and play soccer and stick with Tigger now, and once I have pictures of the snow I will post them, but I wanted to inform the world of my happiness.

This is from last year.
WWFN,
Rosie
P.S. I learned something very sad today. My dog father Callahan, (not my Daddy who I live with) died last month. :(  This is my face that expresses my sadness.

A Terrible Injustice

Dear Head of the SPCA,
I would like to report a terrible injustice performed on me by my family this weekend.
They baffed me.
They removed my lovely scent, and some of my fur. Please edumacate them about the evils of baffing.

Sincerely,
ROSIE

Do you think my letter will work? I can't believe that they did it again.

Here's the evidence I'm providing with my letter.

Here I am locked in the garage torture chamber
Just look at how sad I am.
Just look at the indignity. :(

 Blech, that stuff tastes NASTY!
Daddy applies my Sweet Milk and Rose scented shampoo. Sweet milk and Roses forsooth. A dog's supposed to smell like that lovely substance she just found to roll in. HARUMPH.

Roo says this picture makes her think of an otter. I don't think she deserves to be my sister. An OTTER, forsooth!

The torture device. Ain't it scary?

I'm sorry the pictures are in a weird order. Roo spent way too long fiddling with them as it is. :)

It's Been A While...

Today I took Tigs on a walk in the woods. Just me and her,  and I went on the walk not for strictly *ahem* business purposes. It's been a very long time since I did that, and I'm not sure why. Possibly it's because I prefer to have as many humans as possible with me. Anyway, it was very nice and Tigs told me that she enjoyed herself greatly and that I should take her on more walks. I told her though that I'd only take her on more walks if she promises to stop reciting the cardiac cycle at me during the walk. Studying while walking me, forsooth!

The woods in October last year. The leaves aren't as nice this year because of all the rain we've gotten.

Once upon a time

There was once a dog with a stripe in the middle of her forehead;
When she was good, she was very, very, good,
And when she was mad she went in the living room.
********************************************************
Yes, it's true.  Roo went to take me out, and I was in the living room. Roo thinks I went because I mad about the fact that it's raining (again), because I'm a little scared because it's windy, so stuff is falling down, and because Roo's the only human home (again).

I really went so I could make sure the entire house was well attached to the ground, and not floating away. :)

Canine Health and Nutrition For Beginnners 101- Why the Food Pyramid is Wrong

Well, folks, it's that time again. Time for the most. strenuous. college. class. ever. Today we're talking about why the human food pyramid is wrong, wrong, WRONG.  I think you get the idea.

Anyway, in the first place, the food pyramid is specie-ist. It implies that you should eat more plants than animal products. This is ridiculous. In this country, we believe in equality, so isn't it BIASED of the government to insinuate that plant-based foods are better than animal-based foods. In fact, maybe there should be retroactive policies correcting this injustice.

This leads me to my second point. All food is good, and different people have different tastes. Who is the government to say that any one food is better than another. ALL FOODS ARE CREATED EQUAL, but some are more equal than others.
This photo is symbolic. I symbolize myself, and the bone symbloizes the Food Pyramid.
Basically, I'm showing what I think of the FP.

Next class, we'll revist health, and learn about brushing your dog's teeth.

Rosiekins

Daddy is the BEST Daddy in the world. I love him lots.
Daddy is a superstar soccer player. Not as superstarific as I am, but the best of my humans at it.

How to get Tigger to Do What You Want...

Well folks, it's still raining today. Since clearly the weather fails to listen to me, I thought that I should talk about someone who does listen to me and how I get her to do my bidding. You may find these tips helpful if you ever meet Tigger.

1. Bark. A lot. Make sure you use the appropriate bark for the situation. Tigger is quite good at discerning what my barks mean.
Me. Barking. In the snow. Last year.

2. Use your "Puppy Eyes." That sad, mournful look. It especially helps if you do The Eyebrow Maneuver and slowly raise and lower your eyebrows one at a time.

Doesn't that face just make you saaaaaad?

3. Roll over on your back and wave your legs in the air. Tigger recognizes the universal belly rub sign.
Rub that tummy please!

4. Sidle up to her and paw her. She gets that this means, "Hey!! HEY!!!!!! HEYYYYYY!!!!! YOOOOOOUUUUU!!!!!!!!" and will respond appropriately.

Ok, ok, ok, so this isn't quite the same as #4... but I liked the picture. :)
5. Huh. Maybe I shoulda mentioned this first. It's the most important part. You have to be me, Rosie, to get her to do what you want. You see, other dogs, she has an especially soft soft spot for me. Oooooppppssss. Guess I shoulda mentioned that little catch before.  Guess no one else can use these tips...

Happiness is...

... when Grams comes over to visit and she pets me.
I Love You, Grams!

Is this a good or a bad day?

I am especially fond of having all my peoples with me. For instance, I get cranky when Tigger goes off to school. Who needs college anyway? Didn't I train her up good enough? Huh? Well, it's her fall break today and tomorrow and so I was anticipating a throwback to The Good Old Days when Tigs and The Roo were both homeschooled and I had them and Mamma home with me every day.

Well, I was so verys excited for that today but no, Mamma went to work!!!!! Hmmph! I refused to go on a long walk today at lunch I was so disgruntled. (And to be honest my tooties are bothering me and I'm limping, but shhh don't tell my peoples that.) Now I am just waiting here sadly for my beloved Mamma to come home to me. I don't understand why she won't let me go to work with her - something about my fur and sick people not needing it on them.

Bad Day?
So, here's my question: Is it a good day because I had Tigger home all day, or a bad day because Mamma was gone all day and my tooties hurt?

P.S. Tigs just told me that Mamma should be home in about 5-10 minutes! Whooppeeeee!!!!!!!

Woods Walk

Tiggy,Owl and I took Kanga to see the cool fort some kids built in the woods.

The backside is an uprooted beech tree so the fort is partway in the ground. I really likes sniffing stuff that has been underground. So many good smells.
I sure love to go in the woods. There is nothing like a good sniff!

Naughtiness.....

UMMMMM.....Remember how I said smart dogs know sneakers are not milkbones??????

Ummm Well I ate a big piece of these slippers while the humes were at liturgy.I never even destroyed a whole pair of anything as a puppy,
Sorry

Doggie bed season is back!

It has been a very, very long hot summer.I do not sleeps on my bed when it is warm.Today is my first day back. Coziness! Do you see my beautiful loon blanket?I have had it since I was a baby. I also like to get tucked in with a blanket. Coziness! I can not wait for the beautiful, snowy time.I am going to sleep now to dream of the beautiful, snowy time. Nite-nite.
WWFN,Rosie

Unhappiness

When I am unhappy,I like to bust into the living room and leave Daddy's shoe. Actually, I prefer to leave a boot in the middle of the floor ,but Oct. is not the good, happy snowy time so I have to settle. I is good and just leave the shoe and do not chew it.Any smart dog knows that a shoe is not a milkbone.

Canine Health and Nutrition 101 for Beginnners- Getting to the Good Stuff!!!

Okay, so Roo says that Getting to the Good Stuff sounds more like a song from the oldies station than a college lecture, but she's only in Highschool, so what does SHE know (Roo says: Hey- watch it, BUB, I'm the one who's helping you write this thing.) (I love you too, Roo).
ANyway, we're going to get to the best part of this course now. That's right- it's time to study Canine Nutrition.  I'm going to include descriptions, recipes, and pictures of my meals in these posts, but right now we're going to review the Canine food groups. Get out your notebooks and pencils, and start taking notes. NOW.
*assumes professorial attitude*
We dogs have a food rectangle, instead of a food pyramid, because we like too many foods too much to rank them.  See Figure 1.
     The Canine Food Rectangle

Brea  Meat!!  Fruit Veggies

                           Bread!! Meat!! Fruit Veggies

                         TREATS!!!!!!!

Figure 1. I'm sorry it's kind of a weird size and shape.

Now we will analyze the food groups.
Bread: Encompasses all bread products, oatmeal, and rice. Very yummy.
MEAT!!!! : Animal muscle. From dead animals. I love meat. Need I say more?
Fruit: Part of a plant- the seed covering. SOme are yummy, some not so much.
Veggies: The roots, leaves, or stalks of a plant. ALso used to describe some savory fruits like tomatoes and cucumbers. I like some of these.
TREATS: the most important food group. THe yummiest. It includes anything yummy my humans give me which is not part of a meal.  They can also consist of special foods that I don't get alot being part of my meal.
That's all for today, folks.  Study Hard!!!!
