Happy Memorial Day!

Dear All,
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!
The roses are blooming by the end of the driveway.  They're called Fourth of July Roses, but patriotic holidays are patriotic holidays. They are also more pink than they look in the pictures.

A rose. Not as pretty as me of course, but still pretty.

Brownies. Which I can't have.

I will, however, try to get as much of the ice cream Tigger is making to go with them as I possibly can.

Some geraniums Kanga got for Mother's Day

Some more pretty flowers

The rose bush

More roses

And more roses

And yet more roses.......

MORE ROSES

Up close

A bud

And one final rose

For those who died fighting for our country, may their memories be eternal.
Love,
Rosie

Fawn Rescue 2012

Wol went out jogging this morning and he found a fawn that had fallen into a hole and couldn't get out. So, he and Tigger went on a rescue mission. Sadly, I was not invited to go along. I'm still not sure why. It was a teeny, tiny, little guy apparently, and as you shall see in the pictures, very cute! The family just went back to where they placed the fawn after rescuing it from the hole, and are happy to report that it appears that there has been a happy reunion between doe and fawn.

Ears!

Well, as you may remember me mentioning, I have an ear infection. This means that twice a day I AM TORTURED!!!!!!!!!! In the morning my ears get cleaned out and medicine is put in them. At night, I only get medicine put in, which isn't as bad. This morning I got Kanga to take pictures of the process so that you all could see how I suffer.

Right ear getting cleaned.

Eying the ear cleaner dubiously.

Medicine getting put in. See how thrilled I am?

My unhappy visage after the torture is over.

Dear Tigger

Dear Tigger,
I know I've been complaining lately about all the things you do to me, like putting me on a diet, and cleaning out my ears. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate it.  I know that you do those things to me because you love me. I love you, too.  Thank you for making sure that I'm not overweight so that my joints don't get stressed, and even though I shook my head and got medicine all over the place this morning, I really do appreciate that you're making my ears feel better. Thank you for giving me a pawdicure so that my tooties look pretty, and so that I don't get hurt. Thanks you for all the baths, so that my fur is nice and clean.
I love you lots.
Love,
Rosie:)

I wonder how I can get treats out of this?

Well, peeps sorry for sort of vanishing for a couple of days. My ear was bothering me alot so I didn't feel like blogging. I went to the vet this morning and I got some medicine to clear up the little yeast buggies that are inhabiting my ears. Normally I like medicine because I get to take in cheese blocks, but this stuff gets squirted into my ears, no cheese blocks required. Any of my fellow canines got any ideas on how to get the humans to give me cheese blocks with this medicine?
I mean, really? Who wouldn't give treats to a dog like this?

Love,

Rosie

Why I love the UPS man

Kanga got a package this afternoon, and I officially love the UPS guy now. He left me not one but TWO treats with the package!

Getting the treats from Owl.

What's up in the world of the Rosie?

Let's see- what have I been up to?

1. The anniversary party. Guess that faithful readers of the blog should know about that. I'm still sort of in recovery mode from that.

2. Being on a diet. I'm still miffed about this. But, Tigger reports that I have already lost some weight, and since I was only a little chubby to start, I hope to put this terrible time behind me soon.

3. Pooh, Dr. Celery, and Baby Celery are leaving today. I am NOT happy about that, and if I could find their passports I would chew them up. I will have to be in mourning for the rest of the week.

4. Tigger is done school for the semester. Woo Hoo! I'm going to be having a blast with her while she's on break.

5. Grams is coming over today to come to the 75th annual farewell luncheon. I can't wait! I think that we're going to need to take a beautiful portrait of the two of us together so that she can put out a picture of  something other than strawberries outside her apartment.

6. I'm about to go take the family for a nice walk now. Yesterday I walked almost 3 miles. In. The. Rain. Y'all should be very proud of me.

Well peeps, I've got important things to be doing, so TTFN, ta ta for now!

WWFN,
Rosie

Bad Tigger!

Tigger recently decided that I was getting chubby and told me that I have to go on a terrible thing called “A Diet.” Oh no! This involves getting less food and having more exercise. The more exercise part is fine, but the less food?????????? I am NOT happy about that!

How could you refuse food to a face like that?

Editor’s note: We, the family of Rosie Zidane [Last Name] would like to point out that certain little dogs tend to lose weight very quickly, so she will probably only be on the diet for a very short amount of time, and that she would not have to be put on said diet if she was not in the habit of planting her paws and refusing to walk.

Walk time with the family

I took the family for a walk around the entire neighborhood the other day. We had a blast, although it was getting sort of hot be the end. It's over 2 miles to go all the way around, and when you're a big black furry dog like me, 75 F is BLAZING HOT!

Me and Baby Celery!

It was a beautiful day.

Me and most of the family. Tigger was there too, but she was manning (or girling?) the camera.

Us again.

Sniffing my favorite rock.

A really pretty field.

Same field as before. You can't see it really well, but the wind was making the most beautiful waves in the grass.

Me and the Roo.

More of that field. I think Tigger was enjoying photographing the field.

Climbing the hill!

Gosh! Someone REALLY likes the field.

Barns in the field.
